First of all, thank you so much for the greetings. I never expected that people still pass by here. Ha ha ha! Thank you, thank you.

I guess all your wishes came true. I, indeed, had a very happy birthday. Well, more than half of the day wasn’t all that great. Stressful because of our Market Expo. I went home with a heavy heart, body, and mind… The moment I reached my dorm, someone knocked on the door outside. I was expecting my cousin because I borrowed a jumper from her. But when I opened the door, it was him I was speechless. He arrived by 11am that day and I had no idea… It was the biggest surprise I was so happy that tears came rolling down. Tears of joy, yes.

He told me to change my clothes because we had to go somewhere. I thought we were going out for dinner, but we went to the airport. Ha ha! Second surprise. My mom arrived from Pampanga She brought a cake from Red Ribbon and a whole lot more

It was a day full of surprises. And I could barely contain the happiness I felt. Sadness gone.

On the 28th, Eugene left for Maasin, so he could spend time with his family and friends there. I really wanted to go because I miss my hometown, too Well, he came back to Cebu on the 3rd of March. ‘Twas a Wednesday and I had a class until 4:30pm. And the night before, I reserved 2 movie tickets for Miss You Like Crazy through sureseats.com. :)) It was a good one. The patience part was really emphasized and it was heart-warming. John Lloyd’s expressions never fail to make wonders.

And on the 4th of March, which was also Eugene’s departure date, (thank God my class was still at 3pm) we went to BDO near the Ayala mall because something went wrong with his ATM. The money just disappeared from his account. The attendant told us to call their Makati office. Not so much help we got there… Anyway, we went inside the mall for lunch. And then I saw this poster just below the label CINEMA 1. It was then that I realized that March 4 was the release date of Alice in Wonderland, the movie that I had waited long to see. I, actually, planned to watch in SM tomorrow so I can watch it in 3D. But, I then realized that Eugene wouldn’t be here any longer, so I decided to watch it with him on that day Anyway, my class was still at 3 and the movie was only until 2:30 First showing on the first day. I’m so happy! <3

It was a good movie, too. Johnny Depp was, is, and always will be, my favorite actor. Ha ha! Helena did great also. Woot woot! Tim Burton does wonders. Kudos to them all.

So, it was, generally a good day. I enjoyed the whole time he was here.

Cebu Bloggers Society, 2nd Anniversary Celebration :)

I had been a part of the CBS family for over a year already. And I am extremely grateful to everyone for being a great companion and a friend. The laughters and all are worth a king’s ransom

In two years, blogging in Cebu has ripened from just being a mere online diary to something that takes an active role in civic and social awareness.
One of the factors that contributed to this positive development in the blogging scene in Cebu is the creation of a local blogging community.

The Cebu Bloggers Society was founded on February 14, 2008, with the main goal of uniting Cebu-based bloggers into a well-bonded community. And indeed, after its creation, individuals with diverse backgrounds but with a common interest, which is to promote Cebu and advocate blogging as a key tool for progress, converged together to establish Cebu’s first and largest blogging community.

The Cebu Bloggers Society has really grown and evolved quite significantly. From its humble beginnings, the group presently has at least 80 members and the number is still bound to increase further.

And now, the group is already anticipating its 2nd founding anniversary! Dubbed as “CBS @ 2: The Cebu Bloggers Society 2nd Anniversary Celebration”, the event is envisioned to further strengthen the bond of friendship and camaraderie within the blogging community.

The anniversary celebration will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010, 5-9PM, at the Celebration Hall of SM Storyland, Lower Ground Floor, SM City Cebu.

I had gone on an almost-hiatus phase. Yeah, no real updates for almost a month now. Pretty sad
When I was in GenSan, I couldn’t find time to surf the Net since all we did was party, hang out, etc. I’m really not complaining though, since everything was a total blast. From the arrival, to the departure, almost no dull moments. That is all thanks to Kuya Jaypee *hugs* Seriously, that was the only vacation that I could hang out without bringing a cent It was like he wanted us to make the most out of our time there without minding the amount of money he spent.

It was also in GenSan that I had slept super late. Late as in 6:30am I could hardly believe it myself. Everyone was just laughing and chatting and playing around. ‘Twas like we could hardly talk because of so much laughter. Truly, one of the most unforgettable Christmas vacations ever Unfortunately, I had to leave before the New Year since our flight back to Cebu was scheduled on the 30th of December. I really think it would have been nicer if I spent the dawn of 2010 in GenSan. You know, for a change. Anyway, our New Year celebration in Leyte wasn’t that great because the heavy downpour was hindering us to enjoy the fireworks outside. Usually, we stay outside our roof at 12am. Thanks to rain, this year we didn’t because the coldness was too much to bear Oh well!!!!

Team Hoyt

So Team Hoyt is a very inspirational story of a father, Dick Hoyt, and his son, Rick Hoyt, who compete together in marathons and triathlons across the country. What makes them extraordinary is that Rick has a disease. He is physically disabled. (I know this is pretty late, but I just learned this recently. Thanks to Facebook.)

Well, at first, I thought it was his father in the wheelchair. But I eventually found out that it was Rick, and it was his father running.

It’s Christmas once again And you know what’s the best way to start it? Oh well, you probably have different answers.
But, I think, the best way to start the Holiday season is a clean slate, not only with ourselves but also with our home. You see, we have a new house. Although it isn’t finished yet, I can already picture out myself living there and, you know, chasing the dogs. Ha ha ha, silly me. But, yes, we have lots of dogs at home because my mum thinks that when she gets older (you know, the golden years) and when we (my sister and I) have our own family already, dogs will become her playmates, or something like that.

And as you all know, dogs leave furs on the couch, on the floor. Well, basically, everywhere. Therefore, it’s really convenient to use vacuums as they clean pretty well. Or other home-related cleaners, as long as it’s easy to use because we don’t have much helpers at home, and my mum does most of the cleaning.

Call center and engineering

Call centers are pretty ‘in vogue’ these days. I have this friend that, due to some financial problems, decided to apply in a call center. Luckily, she got in. At first, she kept complaining about everything, the lesser time for sleeping, the stress, fatigue, and all. But now that she’s already a regular, she can hardly leave her job. I don’t know if that really is a good thing because, I think, she’s not coming back to school anymore. But then she’s already earning her own money and she can buy the things she wants, the shoes that she could only stare behind the glass of the boutique before, the dress that only the fitting room’s mirror saw that she wore it, and all that sort of things.. Somehow, I sort of envy her. But, when I start to think deeper, I realize that I have to pursue this dream of mine first. Yes, all my life I have wanted to be an engineer, not only because of the title it leaves on my tombstone, but because of the many opportunities it has to offer and the challenge, of course.

Well, maybe someday I could also work in a call center. But not the hello-good-morning-ma’am-what-can-i-do-for-you position, but in the technical area. Like, maybe someday I could setup a hosted ACD call center. Ha ha ha! Or I don’t know. Maybe, I could also work in a big company (well, that’s exactly what I have in mind, speaking of dreams). In Disneyland, why not? Actually, I can work in every company that needs improvement, which basically translates to all. Yeah, that’s how versatile Industrial Engineers are.
